I am so completely in over my head at the moment. It's Finals time again, which means lots of studying and trying to get things ready for the new (hypothetical) roommate as the old one (who is completely awesome and will be sorely missed) prepares to go home to Colombia.

Hey guys ! Thanks for your comments on the flooding! Obama declared an emergency down in my area today, which means we're going to be getting relief from the worst of the disaster here soon. My friends and I are kind of annoyed, because it stopped raining already, which means the government is a little slow on the uptake. My friend's place is still flooded, but I did go over there to help her move some stuff. Even though we've had sun for the last two days, it's still depressing to see all the places where the flood waters are still there. And, the heat means we're having some bug problems.

Anyway, I will be replying to you sometime tonight, I believe, or tomorrow evening. Whenever I finish my homework, I guess. I just wanted to share THIS nifty little gem I found.




I LOVE the idea! However, as an HF person, I have to take a step back and wonder just how intuitive it really is. It's in testing, so it's not like any normal person has put there hands on it. Perhaps they should think about getting an HF specialist in there to do an evaluation. I think I'd have a hard time with it as it is... But, I'm also the girl who can't text with her phone. XP

PS: I still haven't read my friend's page, so I have no idea what's happening with you guys. Will be doing that this weekend, so expect a few very belated and random comments. :)

Sooo... aside from banging up a few buildings I've thus far managed to survive the flooding happening here locally. It stopped raining today, but we're due for MORE flooding into next week. Some of the buildings sustained minor flood damage, but other than that I'm alive and well. :)

Though, unfortunately, I got a bit sick from wearing wet clothes all day while in an air conditioned environment.

Have some pictures. I took them yesterday, during a very brief lull in the storm during which I was supposed to be running errands. I like how pretty they came out to be. :)

Anyway, that's been my whole last week, which means I've been doing VERY little besides minimizing storm damage (which I will not be posting pictures of). This includes not having conversations with people, writing, and even reading other posts. So, if you haven't seen me comment on anything in a while, this storm would be the reason why.

The storm is expected to clear up next week. Besides a few ruined textbooks, which are still usable (thank God), and a cold, I've gotten off rather lightly. :) Just wanted to let you guys know. At this time, I am probably not going to be forced to evacuate (a few of my friends were evacuated, however), so once the weather clears up, I'll probably help a friend of mine clean up her place. We don't know the extent of the damage there, but we suspect anywhere between 8 to 16 inches of water damage.

The real business though is the following review left for my Glass Fleet fanfiction, The Essence of Love. I posted it on LJ about a month ago, when I first watched the series.

"this is kinda gross (i hate this episode). sighs... but still. i'm glad that there glass fleet fanfics exist cus i can't find them!"

What the heck kind of reply do I send to that?! It bothers me when people leave me reviews like this... No one said they had to read my fanfic just because it was the only one.

I don't know. What do you guys think? Do I have a point or am I just off my rocker with this one? Am I right to feel attacked, or are they right to attack me? It's just something I'm not sure how to deal with... is all.

Fanfiction.Net is made of Fail

While I'm more amused than I am angry, it is irksome to have someone steal my story from Fanfiction.net and spam it. I mean, how wude (totally saying that in Tenebraes' voice, by the way). Anyway, this morning I got up to look at my email and I found a PM from a good Samirtan on FF.Net who informs me very kindly that someone has stolen my story, "The Sound of a Heart Breaking" and reposted the same thing with some trully god-aweful porn replacing the story. I mean, we're talking REALLY badly written crap the likes of which I have never seen before in my 7 years as a fanfiction writer.

What I don't get is, why my story? I mean, there are loads of fanfictions in the Kingdom Hearts section, and this guy actually did spam two other KH stories with the same badly done porn. But, why mine? Is it because I'm writing slavefic? Or that I have Riku on bottom? Or is it just general dislike of Yaoi in general? In any case, this could hurt my credibility as a KH writer, so I'm a bit worried.

But if you see this guy around, please be sure to report his stories to the mod. He has no place posting this crap all over FF. It's so stupid, and I'm really quite annoyed.

So... Since I have some spare time before I need to run off to a meeting for FCPC, I figured I'd do a moderately long Real Life post covering topics of importance to me. Mainly, really, two topics.

1) The Florida Collegiate Pride Conference and Westboro Baptist Church's message of hatred.

2) Amanda Turkel's very disturbing stalking experience and the message of hatred and victim blaming in cases of sexual assault. (Or, Why LoLo hates Fox News)

Charming. Remember, the kid in question is an 11-year-old boy who was kept captive and raped by a pervert for four years! And he's claiming the kid must have somehow wanted it? Yuck!

So, I just wanted to discuss my thoughts on this, since I am horrified and angry that news groups would share such a blatant lie and attack those who seek to share the truth.

Okay then, I should go back to writing now. I'm trying to orchestrate an argument at the moment, one that preferably doesn't involve any more character death since, even though they're fighting, I kind of need for Rosa, Zexion, and Riku to all be alive (for the sake of plot, of course).

Also, if I told you the next chapter of SoaHB was going up today, I'm sorry, It'll be up tomorrow probably around early afternoon. I've decided on a Wednesday/Saturday schedule for March. This will probably change in April since I will be writing another Role Playing Game (tentatively titled Memory of Snow, it will focus on Alzabeth's exploration and her fall from grace, 300 years before Memory of Ashes takes place), so I'm currently trying to get as far as possible before April begins so I can update semiregularly for that month.
